Images: Waste your workday away with Facebook Platform apps

June 15, 2007 2:23 PM PDT

When Facebook launched its Facebook Platform tools last month, outside developers were allowed for the first time to create mini-applications that members of the popular social-networking site could install in their profiles. It also opened up a whole new wave of ways to procrastinate at the office. Forget all those applications for sharing photos, listing your favorite movies and finding out which of your friends know more about music than you do. This gallery shows off a few of CNET News.com's favorites for wasting away a slow afternoon before happy hour kicks off.

This app, a sort of virtual rock-paper-scissors called "Roshambull," was created by energy drink company Red Bull as a promotional tool. Facebook members can challenge one another to matches and wager points in the age-old game.
