Just like the original Star Trek television series, the Voyager spacecrafts were launched originally on a five-year mission but they seem to go on forever. The Voyagers each weighed about 1,797 pounds at takeoff, and without the various appendages, could fit inside a four-meter square box. Both craft included two cameras, one with a wide-angle lens.

Both Voyagers continue to return information from distances more than three times farther away than Pluto.
