Home to both the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group facility and the Pima Air and Space Museum, Tucson, Ariz., is ground zero for airplane storage. CNET News.com reporter Daniel Terdiman stopped in the city during his Road Trip 2007 around the Southwest.
The Pima Air and Space Museum has 284 civilian and military aircraft in its collection, making it one of the largest such museums in the world. Here, an SR-71 Blackbird sits in one of the museum's hangars. The SR-71 was produced from the mid-'60s to the late '90s and was a Mach 3 strategic reconnaissance aircraft.
