Skrbl makes whiteboarding fun

Skrbl is a delightfully simple whiteboarding tool that lets you draw, type notes, and share files without a software download. Admittedly, my use for and experience with whiteboard products is limited, but Skrbl really impressed me with how quickly I was able to begin a whiteboard and share it with others.

Skrbl also allows you to host files and secure your session with attendees, as long as you register. What's nice is that any unregistered attendee can download your shared files; Skrbl only requires registration to upload. However, one thing to note is the limit on uploading, which is capped at 2MB per file and 10MB of storage. This is too low to share high-resolution digital photos or video files; you're likely better off using a dedicated app like Tubes for such a task. But if you're using the service for business and passing documents back and forth, it will be fine.

Writing is not vector based
by paragmathur March 1, 2007 12:16 PM PST
Although Skrbl allows you to start writing very easily, the fact that the written stuff is not vector based is a big disadvantage in my opinion. That means its not possible to edit/move the "scribbed" stuff which can be very useful as users continue discussions and don't want to erase stuff.

ZCubes (http://www.zcubes.com) is a powerful browser based platform that allows online painting/sketching/hadwriting in rich vector based graphics. Further the paint/handwriting can be integrated with other content like websites, photos, videos, RSS Feeds, games, gadgets and a lot more. Try it out!!!

this skrbl thing rocks!
easy, intutive, a digital whiteboard with very few frills. Is that a downside ... I actually think that makes it more user friendly and allows us to grow with the advancements that are bound to be coming soon - like for instance, I am sure they are working on adding highlighting, and other visio like tools.
I like it!!
