"Does seem to make downloads quicker, no doubt!"
Pros: Speeds up my downloads which is nice, especially since I'm in the MidEast with relatively slow access. Easy to install.
Cons: Nothing found so far.

"compare to orbit, this DAP free/paid is a rip off..."
Pros: it can speed up downloads by almost 2x in some cases(for me anyway), resume downloads, preview some media files while downloading & work for rapidshare...
Cons: acceleration is limited to high unless u pay for extreme(10 connection link orelse only get 5 for free version), shred/delete the real file w/o sending it to the recycle bin is limited to 5mb unless u pay & many useless feature u've to pay...
Summary: short: orbit downloader>DAP
long: orbit downloader can do almost everything this DAP free & paid version can do plus it's totally free & faster & can DL sreaming media(video/audio) so it make this one look like a rip off IMO... read more -

"Mostly very good, but with one serious flaw."
Pros: Very fast and does not hide completed downloads. For simple downloads, it can't be beat - especially for the price!
Cons: Very difficult to put "out of the way" when downloading from a source with its own multi-file downloading mechanism, such as "SermonAudio.com." It sometimes tends to take over in the middle of, say, 15 files, and the result is confusion.
Summary: This is a great value, and a versatile tool - again, thanks to the price. I can easily see a bug-free version commanding a small monetary price, and being worth every penny. read more

"Super quick download manager"
Pros: I have noticed download speeds approaching 900Kbs on certain downloads. I like the fact that all the downloads are saved in the completed downloads file, which is easily accessible. I also like the security check on completed downloads.
Cons: The only real con with this program is the nag screen which might well be what's been been picked up as malware by avast as mentioned by a few reviews here, most forums that you're sending a log file recommends uninstalling DAP, same for limewire.
Summary: Despite the fact that certain experts consider DAP to be some form nagware rather than malware certain security applications are flagging it as some form of back-door program, which I have a strong feeling that it's something to do with the nagscree... read more
